Storing Bulk Spices – Housewife Corner
Spice Organization Ideas
I recently wanted to make some Indian food so I made a trip to the Indian Food Store. With so many goodies to choose from, I ended up coming home with lots of bags of delicious spices.

After preparing several meals, I found myself with a jumble of open spice bags that needed to be sealed. Naturally, I quickly convinced myself that this called for a mini-organization project! Organizing is one of my favorite activities, so any excuse I can come up with is fair game.
Finding the Right Containers
To get started, I made a quick trip to Target and returned with some Ball jars. These pint jars are perfect because they are short and wide, making them ideal for spice storage.
I prefer wide-mouth jars as they make it easier to scoop out the contents.

I knew I wanted—and needed—to label them, so I made sure to choose jars with at least one side free of raised lettering. This design also has flatter sides, making it easy to attach the label without worrying about the corners peeling off.
I cleaned the jars as recommended and got to work!

An Easy Way to Label
On a recent trip to Target, I treated myself to a label maker I’d been wanting forever. It took me long enough to get one!
After some research, I settled on the Dymo LetraTag. It’s small, user-friendly, and prints labels perfectly. Plus, it’s a pretty blue, which sealed the deal for me.

Even without a label maker, there are other options for labeling your spices. You could use masking tape or chalkboard labels for a charming look. However, in my opinion, a label maker is the most enjoyable and convenient way to label anything!
Using the Dymo LetraTag
I’ve never used a label maker before, but I assure you, this one is straightforward. Simply type in your desired wording and hit “Print.”
You can choose between upper or lower case; I opted for lower case for my spice labels.

Your labels print out from the back of the maker. With a simple cutting tool on the side, you can easily achieve a perfect cut—labeling is so effortless and neat!
That day, I labeled many different items around the house!

Look how nicely they turned out! To clarify, this is not a sponsored post—I genuinely love my little label maker!

I initially struggled to remove the paper backing, realizing later that the label ribbon is split perfectly for easy removal. After figuring this out, peeling the labels was a breeze.

The labels adhered easily, and I did my best to apply them straight. They look fantastic!

The Final Step
Lastly, I poured all the spices into the jars. A funnel could simplify this step, but I managed fine without one.

The jars I chose were the perfect size for my spice bags. Make sure to check the sizes of any bulk spices you purchase to ensure they will fit in your containers.

The Result: Beautiful and Colorful Spice Jars
Ta-da! Look at all those vibrant colors. The spices are labeled, stored, and they look beautiful! What more could you ask for?
These jars will now fit perfectly within my organized pantry!
